Despite having magnificent views to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge this part of the property in Cremorne Point, for many years remained a derelict rundown space. A table and two chairs were placed on sunken pavers in what was basically a transit zone to the back lane. The time had come to renovate, make this hot exposed northwestern site inviting and usable, somewhere the clients would enjoy spending time, and extend the opportunity to dine outside.
A long pitched roof pergola was built, raised planter boxes installed along with a BBQ against the stonewall. See through blinds along the western side of the pergola keep out the western sun making it a truly lovely area for day and night use, full of lush green plants, a wonderful space for family gatherings.
Once again, with the use of beautiful natural products, stone cladding, hardwood timbers, and granite pavers, a previously ugly space is turned into something usable, enjoyable, green, lush and simply stunning.
